The Centre for Professional Learning offers a wide range of continuing education courses. These courses are specifically meant for professionals with an academic background who aim to deepen their knowledge and skills and broaden their perspective and networks in a public sector related field.
The courses focuses on: Politics, Public Administration, Political Sensitivity, Public Affairs, Governance & Media, International Relations, International Law and European Cooperation. Masterclasses ‘Leadership in Complex Contexts’ are offered as a cross cutting theme, related to national, European and global contextual challenges.

However, working on a PhD whilst also holding a job requires specific circumstances, but is also creates unique opportunities. This is especially true when the research topic is consciously sought in professional practice. The dynamic between research and profession is the main theme in the dual doctoral programme of the Dual PhD Centre.

The Centre for Innovation (C4I) invites professionals to work with researchers and students in interdisciplinary research and development. The aim of the C4I is to facilitate cooperation between public and private actors in the field of governance innovation. The C4I offers no educational curriculum for professionals, but instead asks them to get involved in the Living Lab.

The Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies is a centre of Leiden University dedicated to research, teaching, and training in public international law. The centre has activities that take place in Leiden as well as in The Hague. In The Hague, where the centre forms part of the Faculty Campus Den Haag, the centre is in close proximity to important international legal institutions.
